Mission Statement: Transforming Community for Social Change (TCSC) works to resolve violent conflicts by interceding as quickly as possible and training local community people in peacemaking, trauma healing, and social reconciliation programs in order to revolve and heal the community. TCSC works at the grassroots community level and stays involved with those communities over an extended period of time.

Area of work: Transforming Community for Social Change (TCSC) is based in Kakamega County in western Kenya, but serves the surrounding counties of Bungoma, Siaya, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, and other parts of Kenya when requested.  Internationally TCSC has provided facilitators for organizations in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan.

Short History: TCSC was founded in 2007 under the name “United for Peace and Community Development” as a merry-go-round (cooperative savings association) for peacemakers working in western Kenya. In 2011 it changed its purpose to become a local non-government organization. In April 2016, it decided to change its name to Transforming Community for Social Change.
